Watch the video above to learn more about our Superkids Reading Program! We will become Readers and Leaders! Below is the link to the website-

http://www.superkidsreading.org/

I sent all parents an email that gives directions for setting up your child's Superkid online access. We are very fortunate that our reading program has online activities and books for your child to do at home. We expect all of our students to use the website at home to reinforce what we teach in class. You should have received an email from Rowland Reading/Superkids with directions to activate your child's account. Check your spam folder just in case!

Once your child is signed up he/she will be able to read books and play interactive games that follow the Superkids beginning in Unit 6! This is a great way to spend "screen time" instead of TV shows or video games! You will also be able to keep informed about what we are studying in class. I am trying to "Go Green" and use less paper, so please use technology to keep informed about school as much as possible! Thank you :)

The Superkids app. is available for your iPad! The app. has the same content as the Superkids website so students can read books and play games anywhere!!! Yay! Download at iTunes

Please view the dolch word list (memory words that students need to read by sight) file below. These are the words the students are taught to read in kindergarten and 1st grade. Practicing these words with your child will help them to become readers and leaders!

Also below are word cards from Meet the Superkids and Superkids Club units that contain words that only have letter sounds that your child has been taught. You may print them and use them as flash cards to practice blending and reading skills. Please be patient and support your child as he or she sounds out each letter and puts the sounds together to read! It is a wonderful skill to watch develop and make sure you let your child know how proud you are of their efforts!

Below you will find memory and blendable words cards from Meet the Superkids Units 1-13 which covers the 1st half of kindergarten. Each set will be sent home with your child for homework as we learn in each unit. Your child will be assessed on how well they can read these words. You may print them here if misplaced or you want to get a head start!
